I was at the Swedish Game Awards kick off this week. Very interesting! Interesting speakers, free food and snacks, and lots of like-minded people.
Kian was there to give sort of a post mortem on You Have To Burn The Rope, Alex Fast talked about everything that initially went wrong with the development of Boingo so others don’t have to repeat the same mistakes, Johan Pilestedt talked about last year’s winning entry, Magicka, and Tobias Sjögren from DDM gave a list of do’s and don’t’s on how to pitch your project to publishers.
Afterwords, mingling with likeminded people. Free food and snacks, and lots of liquid shugary goodness. Cards were exchanged, and at least one team were looking for a composer/ sound designer. They gave a good impression, we’ll see if anything comes out of it.
Also, real-time convolution reverbs on the PS3? Color me impressed.
